We took part in Walk to School week last week where everybody made an effort to walk / cycle part or the whole way to School. After collecting data for the week, Hafod won the first prize and the golden boot. We will also be having an Eco Week starting on Monday June the 11th where we will be taking part in many activities such as Energy Day on Tuesday and Eco competition results on Thursday. Get busy reusing materials over half term and make them into something completely new!

Alun Davies he carpenter from Bro Myrddin School has been working with yr. 6 pupils on the project of creating a glasshouse from 2l plastic bottles and wood. The pupils enjoyed the experience of working with various tools and co-working effectively together as a team. Thank you for all the plastic bottles you contributed to the project.

SPRING 2012

The Eco Committee saw this as an opportunity to highlight fair trade to the School and the wider community of Peniel. Hafod went on a visit to the Botanic Gardens and did a fair trade workshop with Jo in the Tropical Glasshouse. The Rev. Tom Defis came to talk to us about his experiences with Fair Trade and a big thank you to all the parents who sent back their footprint showing us what they would be doing for fair trade during the next few months. Have a look for them as you approach the Hall!
